PMHA Trail Competition

Over the years, it has been apparent that a high percentage of the horses bred "Morab" were created by people interested in Competitive Riding and Endurance Riding. The Morab horse is genetically designed to take the best traits from the Arabian and the Morgan. They have been known to have good lung capacity, remain gentle, and keep the pulse and respiration at a steady level.

Many Morab trail horses have been shown as Half-Arabian. Today, there is a program designed to recognize the emphasis on Competitive Trail events. Trail Morabs may now be shown as Morabs -- they are the "Best of Both Worlds."

North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC) offers a great schedule for trail rides across the country. PMHA and NATRC will be working cooperatively to make awards available to PMHA registered horses that excell in points through the North American Trail Ride Conference. Any Morab from our organization will be recognized for achievement at their end-of-year awards.

For the first time, breeders involved with Competitive Riding will find rides local to their state and enjoy their Morab horses on the trail. This award will be sponsored by PMHA and offered to NATRC.

Check the link above to find the ride for you. They will be happy to help you with any questions you might have about Competitive Trial Riding and scheduled rides.

Eastern Competitive Trail Ride Association serves Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and West Virginia. This organization will be pleased to work with our membership to submit proof of entry and completion of sanctioned Competitive Trail Rides/Endurance rides.

PMHA members should sign up for the "PMHA Distance Award" and the ride manager of ECTRA will sign the approved forms for our organization. The rider carries a form with them as they ride the scheduled event. At final vetting and completion of the event, the ride manager signs your form to verify that the animal has successfully completed the event. The rider submits this to PMHA.
