Stallion Service Auction Rules :: Purebred Morab Horse Association (PMHA)

Rules and guidelines for the PMHA annual stallion service auction featuring Morabs, Morgans and Arabian stallions at stud.

 
 

Auction Rules & Guidelines

Stallion Service Auction Rules

  1. Minimum bid must be fifty percent (50%) of listed stud fee. Total bid amount NOT to be less than $200.00.
  2. Winner: The highest bidder per stallion will be declared the buyer.
  3. Stallion Contract: PMHA Stallion Service Auction contract must be completed and returned to PMHA within 30 days of notification of bid acceptance.
  4. Failure to return completed PMHA Stallion Service Auction Contract within 30 days will cause forfeiture of bid and next highest bid will be sought.
  5. Terms are available for purchase of stallion breeding contract as follows:
    1st payment: 40% due within 30 days of notification of bid acceptance
    2nd payment: 30% due within 60 days of notification of bid acceptance
    3rd payment: 30 % due within 90 days of notification of bid acceptance
  6. Late payment charge will be $25.00 per incidence.
  7. All stallion breeding contracts are subject to a handling, semen transport fee or mare care fees. These fees are NOT the re¬sponsibility of the PMHA Stallion Service Auction Program.
  8. Notification: The PMHA Stallion Service Auction Program will notify the donor of the breeding of the successful bidder’s name after the first payment and contract are received.
  9. Winner Contract: Purchaser of the breeding shall abide by all conditions and terms outlined in the standard breeding contract of the stallion owner by whom the breeding is donated. The stallion owner has the sole right to reject the mare presented to the stallion on grounds of condition or conformation unsuitable for the breeding,
  10. Stallion Certificate: The stallion certificate portion of the PMHA registration application will not be signed by the owner of the stallion until a letter from the PMHA Stallion Service Auction Program certifies that all payments have been made.
  11. Stallion Owner Approval: To sell a bid breeding, the buyer must get written approval from the stallion owner and from the PMHA Stallion Service Auction Program prior to selling of said bid to another party.
  12. Death of Bid Stallion: If in the event that the auction stallion should die before service of mare, the stallion owner may offer another stallion of equal quality that would produce a Morab foal to the bid buyer. If the offer is not acceptable, or possible, then the PMHA Stallion Service Auction Program will return the amount paid by the purchaser up to the time of death of the stallion.
  13. Purchaser Responsibility: Transactions for breeding of mare by donated stallion breeding are the sole responsibility of purchaser and NOT the PMHA Stallion Service Auction Program.

Stallion Service Auction Guidelines

Stallion Owner

The stallion owner is to follow and assist with all requirements in securing the service breeding as bought in a polite and business manner.

If an auction stallion service has been purchased via bid and that bid has been paid in full to PMHA, the auction stallion owner may enter ONE purebred Morab foal FREE into the PMHA Morab Futurity Program per each year of a sold auction bid. The FREE Morab foal entry MUST be of the same year of the foal year resulting from the purchased bid.

The FREE Morab entry must comply with all the PMHA Morab Futurity Program nomination requirements and registration requirements of PMHA.

Mare Owner

The mare owner is to comply with the stallion owner’s contract and all requirements to secure the stallion breeding in a polite and business manner.

The mare owner may enter the Morab foal into the PMHA Morab Futurity Program at a reduced fee. This Morab entry must comply with all the PMHA Morab Futurity Program nomination requirements and registration requirements of PMHA.

Stallion Service Auction Monies

Monies collected per each stallion auction year will augment the PMHA Morab Futurity Program for the following futurity years: Yearling; 2 Year Old; 3 Year Old; 4 Year Old and a Futurity 5 Year Old Performance.

The monies from each stallion service auction year will be placed in the above categories at the percentage of: 40 %; 20 %; 20 %; 10 %; 10 % respectfully distributed among the PMHA Morab entries shown in the above categories.

Unused stallion service auction monies, i.e. there are no Morab foals, no Morabs shown, default, death of foal, donation of the stallion auction fee, etc., will be utilized at the discretion of PMHA.

It is the intent that a stallion service, per auction, promotes the PMHA Morab Futurity Program.
